A family tragedy has occurred in Paterno, in the Agri Valley, in the province of Potenza. A 40-year-old woman has been arrested by the Carabinieri for premeditated manslaughter after she drove into her husband, who was on foot, and struck him, killing him. The incident occurred this morning around 9.30:118 a.m. According to the reconstruction of the incident by officers from the Marsiconuovo Station and colleagues from the Viggiano Operations and Radiomobile Unit, the woman, driving her car, mounted the curb on the right side of the road and struck her husband, who was walking at the time. After the impact, the man was thrown violently against a streetlight pole, sustaining fatal injuries. Despite the impact, the woman did not stop and continued driving, carrying the man in her car for approximately five meters, before allowing him to fall to the ground. Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and confirmed the man's death. The man's death was attributed to family reasons.
