A cultural itinerary of Naples and the metropolitan area and promotion of the UNESCO sites in the historic center of the Campania capital and the archaeological sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Torre Annunziata. These are the objectives of the memorandum of understanding that the Municipality of Oplonti has signed with the Campania Region. The Palazzo Santa Lucia Authority aims to promote the promotion of cultural heritage through specific and significant actions aimed at improving its understanding and conservation, as well as increasing its enjoyment, recognizing its strategic role in economic and employment development and in increasing the competitiveness of the region. "The itineraries," explains Mayor Vincenzo Ascione, "are an essential tool for promoting and enhancing our cultural heritage. All parties will engage in synergistic programmatic actions aimed at creating integrated systems to promote sustainable local development processes. The Municipality," he continues, "has presented the project entitled 'Torre Annunziata between Memory and Identity' to the Region. This project will involve restoration, conservation, and extraordinary maintenance, installation of technical equipment, and the acquisition of tools and equipment for the enhancement and enjoyment of the properties of historical, artistic, architectural, and archaeological value." Torre Annunziata, along with the cities of Naples and Pompeii and Herculaneum, is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List as an archaeological site.
