A strange incident occurred the other evening just before midnight on the number 3 urban bus in Trento: a young woman, reprimanded by the driver for wanting to travel for free, took the keys and ran away, leaving the broken-down bus that had departed shortly before from the terminus at Villazano Tre. The young woman boarded the bus at 11:35 PM, without a ticket and with two unmuzzled dogs. When the driver reminded her that in order to travel, she had to pay a fare and muzzle the dogs, and even stood up to emphasize his request, the woman—according to the newspaper l'Adige—suddenly and decisively stepped away from the man, and, anticipating him, reached for the driver's seat, turned off the engine, took out the keys, and ran out into the street, disappearing without a trace. The shocked driver had no choice but to call the police and Trentino Trasporti. The passengers on board had to wait for the replacement bus to arrive to reach their destination. The journey was delayed by about thirty minutes. It is hoped that the woman will be identified thanks to the cameras installed on the public transport.
