The scent of Southern Italian books returns thanks to the "Libri Meridionali" festival, conceived and directed by Professor Gennaro Malzone and sponsored by the Municipality of Castellabate. The doors to culture open on Saturday, July 14th at 9:30 pm for the first evening of the twenty-eighth edition, which will feature the presentation of awards to individuals committed to promoting Southern Italy. The ceremony, held at the Santa Scolastica guesthouse in Santa Maria, will be attended by the Mayor of Castellabate, Costabile Spinelli, Luisa Maiuri, Councilor for Tourism and Culture, Tommaso Pellegrino, President of the Cilento National Park, Dr. Antonio Grilletto, and the festival's curator, Gennaro Malzone. Awards will also be given during the evening to journalist Alessio De Dominicis, researcher Fernando La Greca, the publishing house AreaBlu Edizioni, the periodical "Infiniti Mondi," and Francesco Crispino, curator of the "Settembre culturale" (Cultural September). The event, hosted by Enrico Nicoletta, head of Castellabate's tourism and cultural promotion office, will be accompanied by the guitar music of maestro Roberto Guariglia. It will inaugurate an open space for Southern Italian publishing, featuring leading Southern Italian publishing houses. Admission is free and the exhibition will remain open until August 24th. Luisa Maiuri, Councilor for Tourism and Culture, comments on the initiative: "Books are becoming the center of Castellabate's summer evenings, which are also enlivened by cultural events, presentations, and meetings with authors and publishers. We are delighted to be able to promote an event of great cultural significance, which this year celebrates its twenty-eighth edition."
