Shortly after polls closed, exit polls from the country's main television networks, Televisa and Azteca, predicted a landslide victory for Obrador, who was making his third attempt to secure the top post, giving him a 20-point lead over his opponents. This trend was later confirmed by initial results from a "quick count" conducted by the National Electoral Institute (INE) based on sample polling stations, which estimated that AMLO, as activists call him using an acronym of his name, had won by surpassing the 53% threshold. Behind him, Ricardo Anaya (PAN-PRD) is above 22%, and José Antonio Meade (PRI) is estimated to have garnered between 15,7% and 16,3%.
