"According to some witnesses, a loud bang was suddenly heard last night, shortly before 2:00 a.m., caused by the frieze, which had come loose and fallen onto the sidewalk, shattering into several pieces," Capodanno added. "It should be noted that the stretch of road in question at that time, on a Saturday, was particularly crowded, especially with young people, also due to the presence of several restaurants."
