The territorial control action carried out by the men of the Campania Railway Police Department was reinforced over the holiday weekend, characterized by a huge flow of travelers in transit. The presence of so many tourists is a source of attraction for scammers and thieves who, taking advantage of the crowd of people, aim to capitalize on the stolen weekend treasure. The police officers have therefore intensified the services of prevention and repression of crimes, achieving the results of one arrest, five reports in a state of freedom, over five hundred people subjected to checks, two hundred bags examined, five vehicles of suspected illegal taxi drivers subjected to administrative checks.
The arrest:
Carfora Luciano, a Neapolitan with a criminal record, born in 1976, was hanging around the self-service ticket office looking for the right prey to scam. He then approached a Brazilian tourist, of Italian origins, offering him the purchase of a ticket at half the price, reciting the script of the now well-known global pass scam. The Brazilian, however, after initially accepting the proposal, suddenly became suspicious and protested vigorously, attracting the attention of a mixed patrol made up of Polfer police officers and soldiers involved in the “safe streets” operation. The police officers, recognizing Carfora Luciano as a seasoned actor in the famous scam, invited him to follow them; but he, in protest for yet another arrest, began to hurl insults at the officers and to resist by spitting and pushing to avoid being reported. He was then immediately arrested for the crime of resisting and insulting a Public Official and reported for attempted fraud. The reports:
as part of the investigations and searches aimed at combating the phenomenon of luggage thefts inside the station, the Polfer police officers stopped and identified BF, a 23-year-old Algerian criminal, a professional theft, a scarlet primrose, invisible, elusive, quick in predatory actions, strong in numerous aliases, or false personal details given during previous stops, practically evanescent. The police officers stopped him together with another Algerian AH, also a 27-year-old criminal, while they were wandering around like martens hunting for potential victims of their thefts. Finally stopped and photographed, the police officers managed through a series of cross-checks to trace their home, in the San Giovanni a Teduccio area, inside which the proceeds of numerous criminal actions were found, some of which were immortalized by the video surveillance system inside the train station. Stolen cell phones, women's clutch bags of major brands containing documents of various nationalities, as many as 12 backpacks and trolley-type bags, numerous glasses, wallets, watches and bracelets. A true hidden treasure of valuables stolen from foreign tourists. The two, due to the past flagrant commission of the crimes attributed to them, on which further investigations are underway, have been reported at liberty, but if before they were ghosts specializing in lightning theft, today they are definitively nailed to their criminal responsibilities with their names and faces. Furthermore, during the numerous checks, on Sunday afternoon others were reported for theft, violation of mandatory expulsion order and five suspicious people with an order to leave.
