Naples. Starting tomorrow, another section of the Riviera di Chiaia will be closed for work. The repaving of the road that connects Piazza Vittoria with Piazza della Repubblica will have to be completed, and the manhole covers will have to be aligned with the road surface, the final paving installed, and the horizontal and vertical road signs arranged.
The works will begin tomorrow and must be completed by August 7. It was decided to organize the works in three different operational phases that will involve the closure to vehicular traffic and the prohibition of parking at different times, according to a precise calendar already defined.
The first phase includes the closure from Piazza Vittoria to Largo Principessa Pignatelli—just ahead of Piazza San Pasquale—from July 2 to 12. The second phase includes the closure from Largo Principessa Pignatelli, to the intersection with Via Santa Maria in Portico from July 13 to July 24.
Finally, the third phase: it closes from the intersection with via Santa Maria in Portico, up to piazza della Repubblica from 25 July to 7 August. The new traffic plan provides for the establishment of one-way traffic along the tramway with a route from piazza Vittoria to piazza della Repubblica. This section will therefore not be passable in the opposite direction with an inevitable increase in traffic flows along viale Dohrn.
