Naples. Investigators are tracking the three bandits who attempted a robbery last night at the "Civico 42" pub on Via Empedocle in Pianura. When the two owners reacted, they immediately attacked them. One, Enzo Tesseri, was the first to try to engage in a fight with the armed bandit, and was wounded in the head with the butt of his gun. The second, Andrea Mormile, was hit three times in the abdomen and leg by the bandit, who then opened fire to cover his escape. Mormile underwent surgery overnight at San Paolo Hospital, where he was transported. His prognosis is now guarded, but his life is not in danger. Although the three bandits were wearing balaclavas, investigators are confident they can identify him from the fingerprints left in the bar. It will be a long and painstaking job, but there is good hope of isolating the correct fingerprints from the hundreds of those of customers present and those who were in the bar that evening. At the same time, surveillance footage, including external ones along the street, will be used to glean any details useful to the investigation. Officers from the Pianura police station, who are investigating the case, believe the robbery, or perhaps the extortion, was the work of new members of the neighborhood's criminal underworld, who, taking advantage of the current crisis facing the clans, hit by arrests, repentances, and convictions, have made themselves available. The two managers of the injured pub reported that they never received threats or extortion requests.
