An unlicensed parking attendant working in the Chiatamone area was shot last night in the Monte di Dio neighborhood of Naples. Salvatore De Gais, 32, has a criminal record and is known to law enforcement for his work. Miraculously, he survived: he underwent delicate surgery at the Loreto Mare hospital and was declared out of danger. Officers from the Naples Flying Squad and the Montecalvario police station investigating the case recovered 18 spent shell casings from three different weapons on the ground in Via Supportico d'Astuti. This indicates a genuine firefight, and it's possible the injured man himself may have fired the weapon. Investigators have examined him at the Stube hospital and are now awaiting the results. They plan to interview him as soon as his health permits.
