Naples. He had reported being hit by a bullet while fleeing a hail of gunfire. Salvatore De Gais, the victim of last night's ambush on Via Supportico d'Astuti, in the Pallonetto di Santa Lucia neighborhood of Naples, had told the truth. Before undergoing surgery to remove the bullet lodged in his chest, four centimeters from his heart, the illegal parking attendant from the Chiatamone neighborhood had stated that he was not the target of the raid but had only found himself in the crossfire by chance. The shooting appears to have been the result of yet another armed clash between those from the Pallonetto di Santa Lucia neighborhood and those from the Spanish Quarters. A violent argument following the theft of a scooter is believed to have sparked a Wild West-like night in Monte di Dio, which may have killed the parking attendant, who was outside his home because his partner, after yet another argument, refused to let him in. He, who is out of danger after the operation, explained that he heard three large-engine scooters approaching from afar and then immediately heard gunshots. Instinctively, he ran, and at that point, perhaps mistaken for an "enemy," he was shot, or perhaps even hit by a ricocheting bullet. The police investigating the case also acquired footage from several public and private security cameras in the area to search for footage useful for the investigation. Three pistols of different calibers were fired (18 shell casings were found on the ground). This "significant" amount of fire was launched by the Quartierani to send a strong signal to Pallonetto's enemies.
