The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the death of Salvatore Caliano, the young footballer and waiter at the Tico bar on the corner of Via Duomo and Forcella. The 21enne who yesterday afternoon saw his dreams of becoming a footballer like his father Gigi (former striker for Giugliano, Gladiator, Campobasso, Cavese and Savoia) shattered for a 'little job' worth just 35 euros. And now we are wondering about the lack of work, the future of young people and the desperation of clinging to any request just to earn something. And so Salvatore Caliano died falling from the fourth floor of a building in via Duomo while trying to remove dust residue from a skylight, as a lady who lives in the building had asked him. The glass he was leaning on could not support the weight of his body and he flew about twenty meters crashing to the ground. He also desperately tried to hold on to the scaffolding of the company that is carrying out renovation work in the building, but he didn't succeed. When he arrived at the San Giovanni Bosco hospital in an ambulance his heart stopped beating after a few minutes. The internal bleeding was devastating. The desperation of his family and friends broke the silence of a quiet early summer afternoon. The body was seized, by order of the judiciary, which opened a case for manslaughter, for the moment against unknown persons. The investigations have been entrusted to the investigators of the Decumani police station of the State Police, who are working to identify who had asked Salvatore to clean the skylight. For now, it is known that the work was illegal and that no security measures had been put in place to protect the boy. Dozens and dozens of comments on social media remember the "golden boy" Salvatore, always available and kind and with a dream in his drawer: that of becoming a footballer. The boy from via Vicaria Vecchia was also known for his great passion for football. Until very recently, in fact, he had played in the squads of some important local amateur teams. In recent times, however, he had decided to dedicate himself with ever greater consistency and commitment to work.
