Naples. A young man's life can't be worth 30 euros. We're not worth 30 euros. This was the slogan chanted by participants in the sit-in protest in Naples in front of the Territorial Directorate of Labor, the day after the death of 22-year-old Salvatore Caliano, who fell from a skylight he had agreed to clean, intending to add a few euros to his barista wages. The organizers of the protest, members of the Naples Direction Opposta movement, which brings together various organizations of precarious workers and activists, displayed a banner and distributed flyers. "In 2018, 350 people have already died at work," one participant said into a megaphone. "It's time for everyone to take action against precarious employment and undeclared work, the same work that Salvatore accepted a few days ago by climbing out of that skylight with no guarantees or protection. You can't die at 20 for 30 euros."
