Naples. "The 48th incident of violence since the beginning of the year" involved a 118 emergency worker being hit in the face with a chair at the Asclasi station in Naples. The association "Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate" (Hands Off Ippocrate) has reported this latest act of violence. The incident occurred shortly after midnight, when an Ascalesi ambulance was called for an emergency on Via Eprta San Giovanni, in Naples' historic center. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and found an unconscious patient, but while he was being treated, the man attacked the ambulance staff, lunging at one of them and hitting him with a chair. The attack was unprovoked, as emergency services arrived at the scene within minutes. While attempting to restrain the chair, the ambulance driver was struck in the forehead and suffered abrasions and cuts, which were treated shortly after at Loreto Mare Hospital.
