The State Police officers of the Vasto Arenaccia Police Station arrested Elena Boccia, a 44-year-old Neapolitan, already known to the police, for the crimes of possession of weapons of war, possession of ammunition and explosive material, possession of narcotics. This morning the police officers raided the “basso” of Vicoletto Santa Maria la Fede, where, from a meticulous search, they found and seized numerous weapons and drugs, hidden in various rooms. The woman, under the kitchen sink, had ingeniously hidden doses of hashish ready for sale; the doses, 94, were divided into two plastic cups, each of which had a magnet to be “hooked” to the sink. Under the bed, inside a bag, 5 pistols of various calibers and an UZI submachine gun were found and seized, all sealed in vacuum bags. In a backpack, still under the same bed, there was a SHE 79 submachine gun, a pistol complete with magazine and chambered round, 4 “banana” magazines and approximately 220 cartridges. The 2 weapons were wrapped in kitchen towels, ready for use. The police removed the kitchen appliances and behind the oven they found 11 blocks of hashish weighing 1500 grams, 3 scales and all the material for packaging single doses of the drug, as well as a bag containing 2 other pistols, these also with a chambered round and a refilled magazine, therefore ready for use. The woman, as ordered by the judicial authority, was taken to the women's prison in Pozzuoli. The weapons will be subjected to ballistic-scientific tests at the Interregional Scientific Police Cabinet.
