Naples. A 37-year-old Neapolitan man has been arrested for hiding a war bomb on the terrace of his home. Officers from the Vicaria Mercato Police Station arrested Ciro De Palma for possession of an .81 caliber mortar bomb. Officers conducted a search of a home on Via Giacomo Savarese where the 37-year-old lives. During the search, they found an explosive device on the terrace—behind a large vase. The bomb squad arrived on the scene and, at the direction of the judicial authorities, removed and subsequently destroyed the device. The bomb found was a .81 caliber mortar bomb with an inserted launcher cartridge and a severed front fuse used in military exercises. De Palma was arrested and transferred to the Poggioreale prison.
