A nearly five-meter-long royal boa and several freshwater turtles were found by the Caserta Highway Police inside a mechanical workshop in Casagiove, which was seized due to missing administrative documentation. It emerged that the business lacked permits and had failed to notify the required change of address. However, during their inspection, officers, guided by a nauseating odor, discovered several cages containing four dogs and a reptile house containing an approximately 450 cm albino royal python and several freshwater turtles, all kept in darkness and without adequate ventilation. Health workers from the Local Health Authority's veterinary service arrived on site and, after conducting checks, determined that the dogs were not registered and that they were being held in precarious sanitary conditions. For the large reptile, the Carabinieri Forestry Corps (CITES) service from Naples had to be called in; It turned out that the mechanic had no authorization. The animals were placed in judicial custody.
