Archaeology and Jazz on July 7th at 9:00 PM at the Cumae excavations—lower city—an exceptional location for the concert by the New Talent Jazz Orchestra conducted by Mario Corvini. Special guest Stefano di Battista will perform his musical project OUR MONK, inspired by Thelonious Monk. This tribute to the singular American pianist and composer, an eclectic and original artist who represented the bebop scene in New York, chosen as a model and inspiration for his unconventional performance approach. The band's performance will be enhanced by the special appearance of saxophonist Stefano di Battista, known to television audiences for his appearances at several editions of the Sanremo Music Festival with his wife, Nicky Nicolai. The use of new video-mapping technologies completes and enriches the program. The project, promoted by the Fondazione Musica per Roma, is supported by the MiBACT (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities) and the SIAE (Italian Society of Authors and Publishers), as part of the "Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura" (Sillumina – Private Copy for Young People, for Culture) initiative.
The Pozzuoli Faber Jazz Festival, in its IX edition this year, the Festival takes advantage of the extraordinary collaboration of the Archaeological Park of the Campi Flegrei, which makes its suggestive locations available to host the concerts of the event.
Other prestigious locations for this edition will be, in fact, the Roman Baths of Baia, an absolute novelty, the Aragonese Castle of Baia, which alternates with renowned structures and residences of the territory. The Festival is organized by the Jazz & Conversation Association, committed for years to testifying its role in the culture of the Campi Flegrei, through a path in which music meets the territory, the charm of its landscapes, its history and its contradictions. This year the Festival has the support of Faber Italia srl, a Campania company that produces coffee machines, leaders in the sector for mechanics and design, particularly attentive to cultural ferments. It benefits from the collaboration of the Archaeological Park of the Campi Flegrei, the moral patronage of the Municipality of Pozzuoli, the Municipality of Bacoli, the AACST of Pozzuoli, the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Naples.
