"We cannot accept that a criminal already convicted of sexual crimes, a criminal who was granted house arrest, was able, despite the restrictive measures, to sexually abuse two girls aged 11 and 12. This story that comes from the province of Naples demonstrates a huge flaw in the system of alternative precautionary measures: why was such a person not behind bars where he could not harm anyone? This story also confirms that the risk of recidivism in these subjects is very high and that to stop them, drugs that inhibit their impulses are needed, i.e. chemical castration. Those who continue to oppose take responsibility for these continuous horrors. Otherwise there is only one alternative: never-ending sentences." This is what Lega Senator Roberto Calderoli, vice president of the Senate, said.
