Yesterday evening, around 7:44 PM, "accompanied by her family, a 40-day-old baby girl already in cardiac arrest arrived at the Emergency Room of the Santa Maria delle Grazie Hospital in Pozzuoli. Emergency room staff responded immediately," a statement from the Naples 2 North Local Health Authority (ASL) states, "with the support of three anesthesiologists and two pediatricians." However, there was nothing that could be done for the baby. The rescue operations lasted over an hour, "giving rise to brief hope that the baby would recover. However, during the resuscitation efforts, another extremely serious cardiac arrest occurred, resulting in all lifesaving interventions by the resuscitators being futile." Emergency room doctors, however, according to ASL officials, "have requested an autopsy to determine the presence of any congenital pathologies that may have caused the baby's death." The doctors, nurses, and all the staff at ASL Napoli 2 Nord expressed their deepest condolences to the little girl's family.
