This morning at the headquarters of the fire brigade, in the presence of the mayor Raffaele de Leonardis, the new cameras installed in strategic points of the territory were tested.
The electronic eyes will allow to monitor the city not only in terms of illegal and indiscriminate waste disposal but will also serve to provide greater security to citizens, day and night.
There are 17 new cameras that have been put into operation, 9 of which are panoramic with a 360° view. They will be added to the 16 already installed and will soon be enriched by license plate readers and trap cameras.
The camera system was entirely financed by the “Fire Free Land” project which is part of the “Development and Cohesion Fund 2007-2013”, the “Land of Fires” Framework Programme agreement signed on 20/01/2016 between the Campania Region, the Agency for Territorial Cohesion and the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea.
The decree allocated €499.346,53 in funding to Qualiano and Calvizzano for waste prevention, control and removal activities aimed at solving the phenomenon of illegal dumping.
