Thanks to a citizen's report via the Facebook page of Qualiano Mayor Raffaele de Leonardis, an area connecting Via Falcone and Via Palumbo was identified where rubbish and brushwood had been abandoned, ready to be set on fire. A can of fuel was even left near the pile. Also on Via Palumbo, near a well-known hotel, large quantities of bulky waste had been abandoned.

The Multiservizi workers also intervened on the road that runs alongside the Roma camp where solid urban waste of domestic origin had been abandoned. The area was completely cleaned up also with the help of extraordinary means. The waste, as has often happened in that area, is often set on fire creating toxic fires that poison the air of all the residents of the neighboring municipalities.

The battle against toxic fires and illegal waste dumping is our priority – says the mayor, Raffaele de Leonardis – this time we arrived first and avoided several fires. We are also working on prevention and in this regard we will soon test other cameras already installed in different areas that will be added to those already existing and that will allow us to identify those responsible for the abandonment of waste.
