Nearly half the Miss America board has resigned following the organization's decision, in the wake of the #MeToo movement, to eliminate the swimsuit competition and replace it with an in-depth interview to evaluate the contestants' personalities, rather than just their beauty.
While 22 state pageant officials are trying to oust the new president, Gretchen Carlson, also a former Miss America, is the architect of the new course.
