Rosa D'Amelio, president of the Campania Regional Council, spoke this morning at the presentation of the book "The Girl from Vizzini. A Story of Two Hearts," written by Emanuela Sica and Michele Vespasiano: "There are many stories of violence experienced alone, but by telling a trusted person, opening up, and reporting, we can prevent them from becoming tragic cases like femicides."
The novel tells the story of the rebirth of a man and a woman from unhealthy love, the latter a victim of psychological and physical violence by a partner who blames her by passing off the exclusive possession of her body as a feeling. From here the inspiration for D'Amelio to remember that "opening up becomes important to report before the many stories of violence experienced alone become dramatic cases, before many situations translate into violence. There are many cases of violence, of feminicides, stories of which we only become aware when they explode". The book, D'Amelio underlined, "is read willingly and with passion because in the unfolding of the love story there are the many contradictions that our society lives
