Saturday 14th July in Capodimonte, Peppe Barra in 'And walk walk'

For the third edition of “Musical July”, dedicated this year to the great Italian composer Gioacchino Rossini, on the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of his death, an event not to be missed will be, on Saturday 14 July, the great concert/show by Peppe Barra, taken from his most recent work “E cammina cammina”. On the Belvedere of the Museum and Royal Wood of Capodimonte, a real journey will be undertaken that will cross the fifty years of his artistic career and in which Barra will propose old and new songs by different authors. Eyes open to the future but devotion to popular traditions have always been in the style and artistic intent of Peppe Barra.
A repertoire that will range from Pisano Rendine to Eduardo De Filippo up to the reinterpretation of contemporary songs such as “Vasame” by Enzo Gragnaniello, “Cammina cammina” by Pino Daniele and the recited texts of “Tiempo” in which the creativity of the Neapolitan singer and actor will reach its highest point. There will be a team of exceptional musicians, capable of mixing timbres and scales of different musical traditions. In fact, alongside him on the Belvedere stage there will be Paolo Del Vecchio (guitar – mandolin), Luca Urciuolo (piano – accordion), Ivan Lacagnina (percussion) Sasà Pelosi (bass), Giorgio Mellone (cello).
The president of Rossopomodoro, Franco Manna, states: “Finally a place that recovers its vocation! Capodimonte, historic residence of the Bourbons, hosts the talent of Peppe Barra for one night in the wake of the customs and receptions of the royal family, when the best artists of the city were welcomed. Rossopomodoro will be present with its pizza oven, to accompany the event, in memory of that summer 129 years ago when the queen was presented with the pizza that would take her name: Margherita”. The Peppe Barra concert is promoted by the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte and the Amici di Capodimonte onlus association, organized by Ravi Class Eventi and realized with the support of the Rossopomodoro company.
