Castellammare. Bathing in the clear, cool waters to beat the summer heat. A truly royal privilege if only the law allowed a swimming pool to be installed on the terrace of the Reggia di Quisisana.
Strange that the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia, owner of the Royal Palace, ordered the Compagnia degli Sbuffi to clear out the Puppet Museum and, instead, allows some anonymous people to dive into an illegal swimming pool and get a tan in front of a breathtaking view, as can be seen in the photos.
It will be said that the pool is made of plastic and that it does not alter the volume of the Reggia di Quisisana. But the real devastation lies in the lack of supervision by the competent authorities and in the lack of valorization of a monument so rich in history since, for centuries, it hosted the Neapolitan sovereigns.
Therefore, even before its inauguration, a big problem is looming on the horizon of the Cimmino administration. In fact, despite the fact that three weeks have passed since the runoff, the council is still not there and only the gossip remains linked to the names of some personalities with a whiff of councilorship. In any case, the scandal of the swimming pool of Palazzo Reale denotes the abandonment of the Stabia suburbs and shows that anyone, in the absence or complicit silence of the State, can become king of a neighborhood, perhaps plastic but still king.
