The "Scugnizzo Danise" jazz concert will take place on Saturday, July 14, at 6:30 p.m., at Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano. Organized by the Fondazione Pietà de' Turchini and Gallerie d'Italia – Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano, Neapolitan pianist Vincenzo Danise, aka Danise, will perform his "Sarava'" project, the fruit of a journey through the Amazon and consisting of ten original pieces, which he will perform alongside Antonio Di Costanzo on double bass and Gianluca Brugnano on drums. These ten pieces combine classical tradition, as in "La mia villanella," a reinterpretation of secular songs from 16th-century Naples, with the Mediterranean jazz of "Shunya tango mediterraneo" and instrumental experimentation, as in "Araliya," accompanied by the sound of the "rammer drum," a Neapolitan variant of the hang drum, the mysterious harmonic percussion instrument created in Switzerland by Felix Rohner and Sabina Scharer. Among the songs, there are ballads like "Partenope tra le onde" and the folk energy of "'E 'ca tarantella," featuring bass from Massimo Moriconi, Mina's longtime instrumentalist, with whom she collaborated on nearly thirty albums. And finally, the atmospheres of Brazil, as in "Sarava," the title track and featuring singer Mbarka Ben Taleb.
