He attempted to defraud a Genoese wholesaler, attempting to cash a check for €11 for merchandise that didn't actually exist. The Carabinieri discovered him and reported him: a 49-year-old man, born in Switzerland and resident in Avellino, was in trouble. The scammer had posed as the owner of a company, which in reality didn't exist, and had contacted the manager of a wholesale food company in Genoa. The two had agreed to deliver beverages totaling €11. The merchant had emailed a photo of the cashier's check. The man downloaded and photocopied it and attempted to cash the money, obviously without having sent the merchandise. However, the check aroused suspicion at the bank, and an investigation was launched. The police tracked down the fake seller and reported him.
