Torre Annunziata, racket bomb at the Provolera bar

Torre Annunziata. The racketeering lords are back in action. A large firecracker destroyed the shutter of a bar in the Provolera neighborhood last night. The device, planted in Vico della Fortuna, detonated outside the Caffetteria degli Amici. The explosion, which caused extensive damage to the bar, also shattered the windows and balconies of several surrounding homes. Residents are fearful, but there's also widespread silence. The bar owner explained to investigators who responded to the scene that he had never received threats or extortion requests and that he couldn't explain the motives for the attack. Residents, for their part, said they saw nothing, but heard the bang and were afraid. The Carabinieri are investigating the incident.
