Torre Annunziata is also mourning the death of 17-year-old Davide Valente, who died from injuries sustained in a car accident last night in the Marcianese area of Lanciano. The young man, originally from Torre Annunziata but a longtime resident of Castel Frentano, in the province of Chieti, with his family, was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a parked car, being thrown. Davide was already in serious condition when emergency services arrived. He passed away at Lanciano hospital shortly after being admitted. The young man was a student at the Pescara music high school and was recognized for his musical talents. He was a member of the Fossacesia city band. Davide's family is devastated by grief, and has already been affected by the loss of Giulio Coppola, Davide's 25-year-old cousin. Giulio died in October following a car accident in Torre Annunziata. Davide remembered him on his Facebook page in a long and moving post. The Torre Annunziata municipal administration also shares the family's grief. "Another young victim of the road," said Mayor Vincenzo Ascione. "Seventeen-year-old Davide Valente, originally from Torre Annunziata, tragically lost his life in an accident in Lanciano, where he lived with his family. My deepest condolences go to them for this deeply painful loss. The entire Torre Annunziata community stands with the Valente family and expresses its deepest condolences."
