The State Police officers of the Torre del Greco Police Station have arrested 5 young people aged between 14 and 17 who were jointly responsible for the crime of attempted theft in a church. Yesterday evening, following a note from the Operations Room, the police officers reached a parish in via Madonna Del Principio where they surprised the gang of young people inside, equipped with torches and burglary tools. For several days, the statue of the Madonna delle Grazie had been adorned with gold and coral jewels that could have been the real target of the gang of thieves. These days it was the feast of the Madonna delle Grazie and the statue was brought out in procession again after 89 years to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the parish. The young people who knew of the presence of gold in the church attempted the big hit. The five were arrested and taken to the Colli Aminei First Reception Center.
