Torre del Greco, July 4, 2018. “Half – traveling knowledge”. This is the title of the closing event of the Scuola Viva project that took shape in Torre del Greco, starting from the “Falcone – Scauda” Comprehensive Institute.
Six modules for a single project: knowing and rediscovering the territory. About 120 students have set up, directed by their respective external experts, theatrical performances, painting exhibitions, production of photo galleries and production of a short film.
Five “directors” to optimize and perfect the students’ work: Storie a Manovella association, Ethnos Club, Balagancik, Antonio Mennella and finally Medina.
With the experts of Storie a Manovella, for the module “the neighborhood of the Sea”, the students of the “Conte” complex put on “Il Filo dell' Acqua”. For “Vesuvius between image, writing and memory” instead, the students of the Vc “Scauda” and V “Scaramella” with Ethnos Club staged “The voices of the Volcano”. The VA and VB classes of the “Orsi” complex instead, for the module “The city between colors and folklore”, represented the “sounds and colors of the City”, led by the Balagancik association. Antonio Mennella instead directed the students of the VA and VB of the “Scauda” who staged “Turris Octava… alias Del Greco”.
A project that was structured over several weeks, which saw the young protagonists involved in theatrical performances trample in the true sense of the words the places and the territory that some in one way and some in another were telling. Precisely in this directive modules 5 and 6 were developed. The students were accompanied weekly to the historical places of Torre del Greco by Professor Flavio Russo, historian and expert of the territory. Documenting these various outings with photos and videos was a group of students from the fifth classes and students from the first grade Secondary School, guided by experts in images and video production, who transformed into a short film all the moments that their colleagues experienced in contact with the territory.
"The Scuola Viva project allows us to implement extracurricular activities that aim to bring young people ever closer to culture and school - says the Director of Falcone - Scauda, Maria Josè Attivato - this year too we have had excellent results and products of the highest quality. I thank all the internal tutors and external experts for the excellent work done but, above all - concludes the Director - I thank the students who participated and the families who followed the young people until the last day and who tenaciously believed in the project ".
Great final success at the Virtual Archaeological Museum of Ercolano for the final products of the project which, in a packed theater, saw the students get a lot of applause for the excellent result achieved.
