The victim of this afternoon's murder in the parking lot of Padua's Euganeo Stadium, allegedly involving a katana duel, has been identified. He is Walter Crispin Samiento Sahagun, a 51-year-old Filipino citizen and a long-time resident of the city. His family was notified until late in the evening. A 37-year-old suspect, also Filipino, has been arrested for the murder. No charges have been filed yet, but it appears the crime was sparked by a jealous argument. An initial investigation suggests the weapon used in the crime was a billhook: the two katanas left in the parking lot were not stained with blood. However, some witnesses saw the victim and attacker fighting with swords.
