A 73-year-old man from the Caserta area, who had an international arrest warrant for money laundering, was arrested by police in La Maddalena. He was located by officers from the Porto Cervo police station, in collaboration with the Sassari DIGOS (Italian Special Operations Unit), at a hotel where he was vacationing and taken to Tempio prison. The search for the man was initiated at the request of the authorities of the Principality of Monaco following a three-year prison sentence. According to the findings of the Monegasque judiciary, the Camorra-derived money was "laundered" through the Principality's "disorder."
