"It is a fact that this regional administration ignores the existence of resources with incredible tourist benefits on its territory, demeaning the work of those who, with sacrifice and a sense of duty, take care of maintaining them in a decent state. This is the case of the Cerreta Cognole forest, in Montesano sulla Marcellana, a destination for over 70 thousand visitors a year. A paradise that is looked after by 15 forestry hydraulic workers who, as regularly happens, have not received their salary from the Campania Region for over four months due to a problem, apparently, of inability to process pay slips from the relevant offices. And yet, although deprived of their dignity, the park workers have never crossed their arms even for a day, continuing to work even with personal equipment, to maintain this enchanting place as best as possible and make it accessible to tourists". This is what the group leader of the 5 Star Movement in the Regional Council Gennaro Saiello and the M5S regional councilor Michele Cammarano denounce. "The case of the Cerreta Cognole forest workers is similar to that of many other wonderful sites in the region, such as the wonderful Roccarainola park, where over 180 hydraulic-forestry workers work, left for months and months without pay for trivial reasons of planning, bad bureaucracy or inability to get their hands on a trivial software to process pay slips. And yet, despite this reckless management by the Campania Region, sites like the Cerreta Cognole forest continue to have a strong tourist attraction thanks to the work of these workers who put a sense of duty and love for their work before any form of complaint".
