I musicians Lino Blandizzi and Dolores Melodia, journalists Piero Antonio Toma and lercio.it, actors from “Un posto al sole” Miriam Candurro and Patrizio Rispo, Cristina Donadio (Scianel from “Gomorra”), writers Maurizio De Giovanni, Viola Ardone, Angelo Petrella, Maurizio Braucci, Valeria Parrella, Massimiliano Virgilio and the volunteers from “Un'altra bandiera”, together to give voice to the reading and performance relay that will enliven the Libreria Vitanova on Tuesday 30 October from 18.00pm, the Neapolitan stop of La via di terra in support of Mediterranea – Saving Humans.
The Neapolitan evening, which will be held at the same time as the one in Milan, is part of a series of events that since October 24 have seen and will see more than one hundred writers, artists of every language, intellectuals, citizens, take to the stages of 9 cities – Cagliari, Bologna, Turin, Venice, Palermo, Rome, Naples, Milan and Genoa – for a collective reading to fund the Mare Jonio ship, a humanitarian lookout for monitoring and bearing witness to the stretch of sea where people die of water, neglect, abandonment and silence. The Mare Jonio, purchased thanks to the shared effort of very different entities – associations, individual citizens, activists, politicians in their own right who have given their personal assets as collateral – today sails the sea route between Libya, Malta and Italy. Another union – the one that brought together the protagonists of this initiative – has decided to give its practical contribution by giving life to a parallel land route. A series of meetings during which over one hundred authors will participate to read or set to music a page of literature, a personal reflection or a testimony on the themes of hospitality, travel and solidarity.
The music that will accompany the words during the reading marathon is donated by Paolo Fresu and Giovanni Guidi. The evening is free to enter until all seats are taken.
