P: State Police personnel belonging to the Public Safety Police Station of Battipaglia, during specific activities aimed at combating drug dealing, intervened in a side street of Corso Italia in the Municipality of Pontecagnano Faiano, arresting, in flagrante delicto, the Italian citizen MP, aged 21, resident there. The young man was stopped while he was chatting with a peer from Battipaglia, in circumstances of time and place that aroused the suspicions of the police. The two young men, therefore, were subjected to a personal search and MP was found in possession, hidden in the pockets of his jacket inside two leather coin purses, of 110 packages of cocaine with a total weight of 27 grams and 30 packages of heroin with a total weight of 6 grams. Furthermore, the young man was in possession of a large sum of money from previous illegal activity. MP, therefore, was declared under arrest because he had become
responsible for the crime of possession of narcotic substances such as cocaine and heroin for the purpose of subsequent transfer to third parties. The Public Prosecutor on duty at the local Public Prosecutor's Office ordered that the arrested person be accompanied to his home under house arrest, pending validation by the Preliminary Investigations Judge at the Court of Salerno.
