Lor a burst sewer collector, due to bad weather, has created serious problems in the outskirts of Bacoli with streets and land flooded with sewage, mud and debris. A complaint from the 'Coordination of the outskirts' committee highlights the critical situation in which the areas of Cappella, Cuma, Fusaro, Mazzoni, Miliscola and Miseno find themselves as soon as rainfall exceeds the critical threshold level. "The 'circumlacuale', or the sewer pipe that surrounds Lake Miseno and collects the waters of Bacoli and Miseno, as soon as it starts to struggle due to the abundance of water - the coordination reports - the manholes pop and pour black water onto the street to which the white water is added - full of waste and debris from the hilly streets of Monte di Procida, via Panoramica and viale Olimpico. The sewage, mixed with mud and other materials, blocks the roads and traffic, floods homes and public and private premises that are forced to close. A critical situation that has already been reported to the institutions several times and which has its roots in the structural insufficiency of the sewer system of Bacoli and Monte di Procida. “A system – the coordination states – that should be seriously and critically rethought – also in light of the Great Project of the Phlegraean Lakes still being completed – to provide solutions to ancient problems and improve the healthiness of the environment.”
