Sa press conference was held on Saturday 27 October in the council chamber of the Town Hall to present the project “gli occhi delle donne”. The initiative, launched by the associations “Mithril Art” and “La Casa di Pat”, with the patronage of the Municipality of Brusciano, aims to raise awareness on the issue of gender violence.
During this meeting, there were numerous interventions by representatives of the world of institutions, associations and civil society of Brusciano. Among these: the president of the association "Mithril Art" Alessandro Cavaliere, the president of the association "La Casa di Pat" Domenica Chiara Sena; the councilor for social policies Antonietta Marinelli, the Mayor Avv. Giuseppe Montanile; the social worker Eleonora Di Palma; Leandra Romano; the psychologist Salvatore Rotondi, the singer Teresa Sodano, aka Tresi Bool and finally the musician Enzo Di Monda. The event was moderated by the sociologist and journalist Antonio Castaldo.
The conference proceedings began with a musical contribution by singer Teresa Sodano, accompanied by Enzo Di Monda on guitar, with whom she sang a song by Fiorella Mannoia, entitled “Nessuna convenienza”; a song relevant to the theme of the initiative. Immediately after, it was time for interventions and exchanges of opinions: each in their own field expressed their point of view.
Saturday's was just the presentation of a project that will take place and be completed from November 23 to 25, 2018. On the 23rd, the event "Women's eyes against gender violence" will officially begin with a conference on the topic of violence against women. On November 24, the meeting "Love chat" will be held: a moment of discussion and reflection, at "La casa di Pat" in via Semmola.
The activities will culminate on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women; for the occasion there will be social, cultural and artistic activities and information gazebos. For the occasion an artistic installation will be created, consisting of a red bench with a girl sitting and busy tying her shoes, also red, the symbolic color of the fight against gender violence. A canvas will be placed where women can leave their footprint as a gesture of commitment in this field. Finally, the event will see the musical contribution of the group Napoli di Sottofondo.
