Catanzaro started strongly. Favalli's run down the left found Fischnaller. The Giallorossi's number 21 flicked it on, setting up Statella, who, from a good position on the right, missed the target. Riggio then tried a backheel, but it hit the post. Catanzaro pressed forward in search of the lead: it was the return of the entire first half, even though there were few scoring opportunities. The Giallorossi were in control but lacked any momentum, and there were protests over a penalty called for a Troest handball. In the 12th minute of the second half, the mood changed: Juve Stabia took the lead: a free kick, the ball floated into the box, and Allievi headed it to the right of an innocent Elezaj. The Wasps took control of the game and soon after doubled their lead. A mistake by Maita sparked a solitary Juve Stabia counterattack; Riggio tried to put a stop to it but committed a handball in the box. Penalty for the visitors and red for Riggio. Paponi fires a powerful shot down the center of the penalty spot, but Elezaj deflects it with his foot, but the ball still ends up in the net. The Stabia number 10 is given a yellow card for his provocative celebrations toward the West Wing. The momentum shifts, and the game is completely under the control of the Caserta-coached players. The third goal comes in the 35th minute: another disaster from Maita, who celebrated his 100th appearance for the Giallorossi in the worst possible way. A loose ball in the middle of the pitch leads to a Juve Stabia counterattack, who easily reach the goal and score with Mastalli.

Brescia excluded from Serie C, now it's official

by Vincenzo Scarpa July 3, 2025 - 15:11 15:11

One of the historic squares of Italian football has been removed from the professional championships. With an official decision communicated in the last few hours, the FIGC has excluded Brescia Calcio from Serie C, denying the granting of the national licence for the 2025/26 season.

A piece of news that marks a very hard blow for a team with 114 years of history, capable over the years of alternating great promises with severe crises, but always central to the sporting and cultural life of the city. The Federation's press release was unequivocal: no admission to the next championship.
