DThe officer of the Arma Gianpaolo Scafarto, since last July the councilor for Security and Legality of the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia, involved in the investigation into the leak of information in the context of the Consip affair. In particular, according to the notice of conclusion of the investigation, Scafarto must defend himself, when he was captain of the Noe (later becoming major), from three charges of forgery, two of disclosure of official secrets and one of obstruction of justice, in collaboration with Colonel Alessandro Sessa. According to the charge, it was he who forwarded to “Fatto Quotidiano” “the content of the statements made, as persons informed of the facts, by Luigi Marroni and Luigi Ferrara” in the context of the investigation conducted at the time by the Naples prosecutors as well as the registration in the register of suspects of General Tullio Del Sette, “news later published on 22 December 2016”. Scafarto, then, at least until March 2017, allegedly passed on to colleagues at the Noe who were then transferred to Aise documents covered by investigative secrecy including "some transcripts of wiretaps, the outcome of shadowing services and the report from February 2017", deposited at the Rome Prosecutor's Office. Among the episodes of forgery is the one related to the report delivered to the prosecutors of Piazzale Clodio on January 9, 2017 on the basis of a conversation intercepted in the offices of Romeo Gestioni, in which he attributes to Alfredo Romeo and not to Italo Bocchino, who actually said it, the phrase "... Renzi, the last time I met him" with the clear objective of "nailing Tiziano Renzi to his responsibilities". Finally, regarding the accusation of misdirection, Scafarto, who on May 10, 2017, when his cell phone was seized by magistrates, "at the request and instigation of Sessa (his superior, ed.) and in order to prevent the reconstruction of the WhatsApp chats, proceeded to uninstall the aforementioned application on Sessa's cell phone". Thanks to the transcription of a marshal and the annotation in a computer notebook, the investigators of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office were able to correctly attribute to Italo Bocchino the phrase "... Renzi, the last time I met him" who instead had referred it to Alfredo Romeo, leading to the hypothesis of a completely different story. It is the information of January 9, 2017, it is the central document for the Consip investigation and it is also the accusation for the former captain of the Noe, Gian Paolo Scafarto.
