ULightning struck the Caserta station. The entire electrical system short-circuited. Five firefighter teams are working on site. The Ferrovie dello Stato station was evacuated and train traffic was suspended. Buses were made available for commuters. Train traffic was blocked due to a fire that broke out at the Caserta railway station, in an underground service tunnel, where the electrical cables pass. The trains are stopped at the entrance because the power supply was interrupted and the station itself was first evacuated and then temporarily closed. The Caserta firefighters are trying to identify the origin of the fire after having put out the flames. Railway Police officers are also present. No injuries were reported.
