Uan agreement that provides for the joint use of the Metropolitan Police of Naples and the agents of the Provincial Police of Benevento in actions of prevention, contrast and repression of crimes committed against the environment, promoting convergent integrated security policies, with the coordination and impetus of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento for the investigative and repressive activity in the sector in question. It is the one signed between the Prosecutors and the Metropolitan and Provincial Police of Naples and Benevento: the Attorney General of the Court of Appeal of Naples, Luigi Riello, the Attorney of the Court of Benevento, Aldo Policastro, the Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Naples, Luigi de Magistris, the President of the Province of Benevento, Claudio Ricci, and the Prefect of Benevento, Francesco Cappetta. The practices tested in the Neapolitan territory in the fight against the Land of Fires, such as the operations called "Action days", will thus also be extended to the Sannio territory. The agreement will implement prevention, contrast and repression actions against crimes committed against the environment, promoting convergent integrated security policies, with the coordination and impetus of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento for the investigative and repressive activity in the sector in question. The agreement provides that the coordination of the operations will be assumed by the Police of the Metropolitan City of Naples, which will provide the know-how for the integrated security policies to support the Provincial Police of Benevento and other provincial Administrations that subsequently, sharing the purposes, will want to join. The Neapolitan Police and the Sannio Police, within the scope of their respective organizational autonomy, will assign men, equipment, means and resources in sufficient numbers to carry out the operations. The agreement arises from the awareness that the phenomenon of the "Land of Fires" is transversal to the territories of the two Entities and that it benefits from the current heterogeneity of the contrast activity. “The Metropolitan City Police of Naples – the document states – is a specialized proximity police force, with a widespread presence on the territory and with in-depth knowledge of the places and illegal dynamics in the environmental sector where it has demonstrated competence and professionalism”. The collaboration between the two forces can, therefore, “bring about significant benefits for the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento in relation to the investigative activities carried out in order to counter attacks on the territory connected to the illegal activities of waste collection and disposal”.
