Napoli. Despite the "yellow" weather alert level, i.e. an ordinary criticality, for yesterday from the Unified Operations Room of Civil Protection of the Campania Region, over the last few hours the weather conditions in Naples have significantly worsened. The strong wind with gusts of exceptional intensity has caused branches to fall and trees to be uprooted in several neighborhoods with dramatic consequences. Numerous sections of road are closed or prohibited due to the risk of cornices collapsing, sheet metal and roofs falling to the ground. School buildings have also been affected by the strong wind with several cases of reported damage to roofing sheaths, window frames and trees in free, adjacent and/or appurtenant areas. This is what the Municipality of Naples reports, which today has therefore ordered the closure of schools of all levels including nursery schools. The city Civil Protection teams, all the 'Road Emergency Response' teams of the municipalities, the staff of the Asia company, 100 local police officers, the technical vehicles of the municipal fleet, the staff of the city green service were immediately engaged in the emergency and civil protection service. All the necessary measures are already being adopted to intervene, assessing the damage caused to limit the inconvenience to traffic and road circulation. Requests have been received to carry out precautionary checks in school buildings so that school activities can be carried out with due safety.
