Livorno. The Coast Guard of Portoferraio, on the island of Elba, intervened to rescue two men aboard a pleasure boat that was adrift in the harbor. The emergency began around 11.00:892 am, due to the exceptionally adverse sea weather conditions that have affected the entire Tuscan Archipelago since last night. In fact, following the breaking of the moorings, the boat headed for the harbor to try to find shelter and avoid further damage with the help of the mooring men, led by the group leader, and the means of the local mooring group and the port pilot, as it was no longer able to steer with its own means. Despite numerous attempts to secure the boat, the last of which was to shelter it near the motor vessel Etrusco which was in the harbour, thus avoiding the sinking of the vessel, due to a hole that had opened in the hull in the meantime, with consequent possible problems for the safety of navigation for the vessels in transit, the vessel ran aground, driven by strong Sirocco winds, near the location called “Grigolo”. The motor vessel Cp XNUMX took care of rescuing the two members of the crew of the vessel, also thanks to the important support provided by the motor vessel Etrusco.
