Bad weather, tree falls: volunteer firefighter dies

A volunteer firefighter died in San Martino in Badia, in the province of Bolzano, after being hit by a tree fallen by strong winds. The Civil Protection Department announced this. Regarding waterways, the greatest concern currently concerns the Piave River, which currently has a flow rate of between 2.200 and 2.500 cubic meters per second. The risk of flooding remains real, and monitoring is ongoing in the towns of San Donà, Musile, Eraclea, San Biagio di Callalta, Ponte di Piave, Jesolo, Maserada, and Cimadolmo. For the Adige River, the agreement with Trentino has allowed the drainage tunnel to be opened toward Lake Garda.
