Frivers at the limit of the warning, landslides, mudslides, isolated villages, an entire region on its knees, hundreds of people displaced. The wave of bad weather continues to lash Italy and even if the torrential rains and winds of over one hundred kilometers per hour are easing - at least for the next few hours - the emergency is far from over. The confirmed victims are ten. At six yesterday, another 3 were added: a woman died after a landslide hit her home in Dimaro, in Val di Sole, a volunteer firefighter hit by a tree while he was carrying out an intervention in San Martino in Badia, in Alto Adige, and a 63-year-old kite-surfer thrown onto the cliffs of Cattolica by the very strong gusts of wind. Several people were also injured, including a little girl hit by a stone in Silandro and two young people in Rome who were hit by yet another fallen tree on the Gianicolo.
The tenth victim is a man, whose body was recovered this morning from Lake Levico, in Trentino. He is a fisherman who yesterday afternoon had made an inspection of the shores of the lake to check the conditions of his moored boat. After the alarm was raised by relatives last night, the firefighters' diving unit began the search and found the body this morning. It is likely that the man fell into the lake waters due to strong gusts of wind.
