SThe death toll from the bad weather that hit Italy has risen to eight. Rescuers have recovered the body of a woman who died in Dimaro, in Val di Sole, where the Meladrio torrent overflowed. The woman found dead had been reported missing following the landslide last night in the Campeggio di Dimaro area. The victim was trapped in her home, which was submerged by a massive mudslide and rocks. The adverse conditions and the impassability of the area made the rescue operations particularly difficult, with the help of teams of volunteer firefighters and the permanent corps of Trento. According to the Trentino Civil Protection, excavators were used to free access to the house, which created an opening through which rescuers reached the interior of the house where the woman's lifeless body was found.
