Domani schools closed in Naples. The mayor, Luigi se Magistris, has decided. The decision was taken to "allow for the examination of the significant damage caused by the unexpected, exceptional, wave of bad weather, taking into account only the yellow alert, an ordinary criticality, issued by the competent civil protection".
The mayor of Naples, Luigi de Magistris, is about to sign a mayoral ordinance that provides for the closure for tomorrow, October 30, of all city schools of all levels. The measure, explains a note, is necessary to allow for the examination of the significant damage "of the unforeseen, in its exceptionality, wave of bad weather, taking into account only the yellow alert, ordinary criticality, issued by the competent civil protection". The entire school safety chain will be involved in the assessment, from school principals, through their managers to the safety of the buildings, to the technical services of the Municipalities, to civil protection. The mayoral ordinance that will be published in the next few hours underlines the need to close schools, also in light of the foreseeable difficulties in traffic due to the damage recorded in many city streets. The mayor, then, on behalf of the entire city of Naples, expresses his deepest condolences for the death of the 21-year-old student Davide Natale, killed by a tree uprooted by the wind in via Claudio and is close to his family.
