DNineteen municipalities patrolled, ten companies checked, 143 people and 62 vehicles searched. These are the numbers of an inter-force operation carried out between the provinces of Naples and Caserta, in the area called Land of Fires: Acerra, Afragola, Boscoreale, Brusciano, Cardito, Castel Volturno, Cesa, Giugliano in Campania, Gricignano di Aversa, Maddaloni, Marcianise, Marigliano, Naples, Nola, Orta di Atella, San Vitaliano, Sant'Antimo, Teverola and Villaricca.
In the field 76 crews, for a total of 192 units belonging to the "Campania" Group of the Italian Army, the PS Police Station of Aversa, the Carabinieri Company of Aversa, the Carabinieri Station Command of San Vitaliano, the Group Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Aversa, the Air and Naval Operations Department of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, the Metropolitan Police of Naples, the Provincial Police of Caserta, the local police of the municipalities involved, as well as personnel of the ASL and ARPAC. Four companies were seized, 21 thousand euros in fines issued. In the province of Naples the most sensational case involved a company of 3 thousand square meters in Giugliano seized for illegal waste disposal and the owner fined for emissions into the atmosphere.
